Composite Stories

I wanted to be able to make composites that felt cohesive and like they might have a deeper story behind them. So, the first thing I did was go to Pixabay to look for some images.

These were the four images that I drew inspiration from. Upon first glance it might seem that none of them would ever go together, but I went to work in trying to do so...

Here is the final image that I created. I used the dodge and burn tools to make a lot of the selections that I used. Then I used a layer mask and added in some brightness and contrast layers. Then to finish it off I put a blur effect on the foreground to solidify the perspective.

These images had more of a clear theme than the last, but I still didn't quite know how to make it work. On we went to the editing...

This was the final result. I again used the dodge and burn tool to make my selection because I find that it gives you a crisper, more refined edge. When each layer had been selected and made into a layer mask, I used curves, brightness and contrast, and blur gallery to solidify the image.

Here are the beginning images. With a very clear vision in my head, I went to work.

And the final result! Again I mostly used the burn and dodge tools, plus brightness, contrast and curves. I also had to use the trick where you can put an object behind another, and well as a blur effect. Overall, a fun piece!
