Playing With Brushes
For this lesson I was tasked with creating four advertisements. One using the rain effect, one using the mixer brush, one using the mixer brush again in a different way, and lastly, one using custom made brushes. Each piece is signed using a custom brush that I made. I hope you enjoy!

Rainy Day

The first ad that I created was one where I created the effect of heavy rain. For this I duplicated the bottom layer and made it transparent so that it would give the effect of a reflection. I just deleted the parts that I didn't need. Then I used a couple of different effects like plastic wrap and blur to give the ground a shiny feel. Then I used the noise filter to create the background rain. To get it to blend in, I used the screen layer blend mode. Then I created a brush to get the top layer of the rain. I found a water splashing image and used that with some color blend modes to create the splashes on the ground. Lastly, I added my text, and there it was!
Work Of Art
The next image I created was using the mixer brush. I used the mixer brush on a fairly wet setting to create this image that looked like a painting. I tried to come up with something fun for the text that played off of the image a little bit. Here's the final product!

Painting Fun
For this ad I used the mixer brush once again. I used it on an even wetter setting to muddle up the details a bit more so that it really looked like a painting. When I first tried this tool I thought it would be cool to place it in a museum or something of the sort. I thought that it would be fun to kind of play off of the oil panting look of the photo.
Portrait Technique
For this image I took the image and made it into a clipping mask based off of the layer below it so that I could use different brushes to expose the picture underneath. Since the picture is not very wide, I used the some of the same brushes that I used to expose the picture underneath to paint on some splashes of color. I took these colors from the image using the eyedropper tool. Enjoy!

Custom Brushes

Lastly, I created an ad using two brushes that I made. The first is the back of the background. I made a brush with wide scatter and variation and used it to create a kind of blur and random cloudy effect in the background. The second brush I created using Adobe Capture. I drew the leafy pattern that you see in the background and then uploaded the image with Adobe Capture and edited the brush settings until I was satisfied.
